We are only inviting family to the wedding and friends and everyone else to the reception and dance. They are all being held on the same day. How do you word the invitations so everyone knows they are only invited to the reception and dance and do not get offended.

I would simply send a reception invitation. Not a invitation related to the wedding at all, complete with date, time, and place of the reception hall.
