I'm inviting guests to a celebration dinner at a restaurant for my husband's 50th birthday. However I want to tell the guest that they are responsible for their meal on the invitation. Not quite sure how to word that tactfully.

Me too- husband with 50th. Want it to be a surprise Dutch Treat Party at a modestly priced restaurant. But many of the websites I have seen, have said you can't do this without being tacky. If you host something, you are supposed to pay for it. I have been to several restaurant parties where we paid Dutch treat and was not offended in the least....none of us are wealthy!!
